Gardening Equipment Hire in Golden Grove — Soil & Garden
Soil & Ground Conditions
Rocky hillside soils with significant clay content. The foothills from Tea Tree Gully through Golden Grove and Highbury have shallow topsoil over weathered sandstone and quartzite bedrock. Sloping blocks mean cut-and-fill excavation is common. Deep clay layers hold water in winter, creating slip hazards on steep terrain.
Garden Equipment Notes
The clay loam with some rocky patches in Golden Grove determines the best approach. Water clay soil the day before using a rotary hoe for easier tilling. Aerate lawns in spring and autumn when soil is moist but not waterlogged.
