Gardening Equipment Hire in Rosewater — Soil & Garden
Soil & Ground Conditions
Reclaimed swamp and estuarine soils — predominantly soft marine clay, sand, and silt. The Port Adelaide area is built on filled mangrove swamps, with highly compressible soils that require special consideration for any structural work. Groundwater is saline and close to the surface. Soil contamination is possible in older industrial areas — always test before excavation.
Garden Equipment Notes
The fill and compacted clay in Rosewater determines the best approach. Water clay soil the day before using a rotary hoe for easier tilling. Aerate lawns in spring and autumn when soil is moist but not waterlogged.
